Your Assessment
Why are you here?
I plan on being active my entire life. I am 55 now and want to stay at my best physical condition.
Assessment Number One: Gait Analysis
Assessment Number Two: Overhead Squat
Assessment Number Three: Low Core Activation
Level 5. I think my core is the strongest it's ever been ... far stronger than when I started the program. 🙂
Your Health History Questionairre
Would like to remain active, pain free and strong for my entire life.
I don't want to end up like my dad and/or other friends/family that don't take care of themselves and wonder why they don't feel well, are cranky and more pessimistic than they used to be.
No broken bones.
Both Achilles tendons fully ruptured, surgery (right)1999 and (left)2006. Physical therapy with Lark Galanis brought them back to 90-95%.
Inguinal hernia repair on both the right and left sides with mesh (left) 2013 and (right)2020.
Left shoulder injury playing softball, 2016-ish. Playing short stop, thought I was 20 ... ran for the ball ... tripped ... shoulder rolled poorly jamming my left shoulder into the ground. Been tight, inflexible and "off" ever since.
I have some pain and tightness in my mid-neck. It decreased about 50% after I got a Tetanus shot earlier this year, but is still there.
Rear ended a small pick up truck while driving our Toyota Rav in 2016-ish I think. I saw it coming, swerved so it was a glancing blow and was well under 20mph.
None.
Bell's Palsy 2016 - fully recovered within 6 months.
Daily cannabis use for intestinal discomfort and anxiety. Currently micro-dosing mushrooms every 3 days (approx 300mg).
The days I don't use cannabis, my stomach or intestines start to feel very uncomfortable, but not painful. It is also takes more effort to maintain a calm interior mental balance.
When I was younger - flag football, racket ball, karate, soccer, weights, ballet, dance
Over 40 - softball, soccer (which was rough), Aikido, yoga, hiking, biking
Lately, I have been consistently spending about 10 to 15 hours per week working in the yard or building something in the house. Yardwork entails jack hammering, pick axe and digging for new plants and water system. I've tried to be very aware of how I am using the tools and switching sides to strengthen both sides.
I've also been building a pantry, cutting into walls, building walls and other general construction so carrying heavy items (mostly with awareness), lots of walking back and forth from the backyard, etc.
I will also do about 20 minutes of Yoga by Adrienne on YouTube at least twice to three times per week.
45 minutes per day outside of my normal activities seems to work best.
When do you go to Bed? 10:00 PM
Energy Level in the Morning: 6
Energy Level Midday: 9
Energy Level Night: 8
We eat fairly healthy once or twice per day trying to practice 18 hour intermittent fasting. Mostly vegetarian, but we have added chicken and sometimes beef two or so times per week. Salted pork and ham does not agree with me usually causing digestive inflammation/pain and bleeding hemorrhoids.
During the day I usually drink French roasted cacao bean (instead of coffee) and tea (including mint from my garden).
I also drink 1 to 3 glasses of alkalized water (we have a Kangen machine) per day.
I have approx 2 glasses of wine 3 to 5 nights per week.
I am living a great life right now. Other than I need to trade in the Impala for a pick up truck ... can't think of anything.

The only thing that comes to mind is maintaining solid relationships and open communication with Sherry, Emma, JJ, my parents and my brother which is way easier for me than most people have it.
